This is a collection of songs from various points in the months running up to the birth of my first child. They capture some of the raw moments of fear, doubt, vulnerability and hope that I’ve experienced in this time. There’s a couple that have been made up in the moment with friends, around campfires. There’s a couple that I’ve sung directly to the bump, the recording of which appears here. It was important for me to finish these up and collect them together before the baby was born, because the person singing these songs is not the person I will be on the other side.
